About yours truly.

Welcome to No. 17 Cherry Tree Lane!

My name is Rachel and I’m a 1950’s housewife, stuck in 2009.  I stay at home with Miss K and cherish my moments with my little girl and husband Sean.  I am a follower of the Lord and know my life is given purpose through Jesus’ life and death.  I am truly blessed.

Oh….and I like to sew.  I love anything vintage. Flea Markets. Garage Sales. Drink Diet Coke. Watch movies.  Chat with the ladies.  Eat.  Laugh. Shop. Listen to music and certainly am in love with Mary Poppins.

Come in, sit down and let’s get to know each other a little better.  Perhaps discuss the things that life is made from….

Really? No mention of your favorite person in the world? Really?

  4. Except for the cooking part, I would have loved to have been a 1950s housewife.

  5. I LOVE Mary Poppins. My other fascination is Miss Figalilly, of Nanny and the Professor. I often joke that I am of another time. I am happy to know that I am not alone!

  6. I randomly came across your website when in search of the BEST cupcakes in San Francisco.

I love your use of NO. 17 Cherry Tree Lane.

    Very clever!

Brings back incredible memories for me from long ago. I too share a passion for everything vintage. If we’re ever in the same area, we should hit the flea markets!

    Best,

    Dacotah,
    (moving to SF soon)

  7. I could have used your sewing expertise a couple of weeks ago! I bought a machine and fabric and patters and was so excited to hand-make clothes for my new baby girl. After about 6 hours of jam after jam after jam… I gave up sewing and returned the stupid machine. DARNIT!

Hello Amanda I saw your comment on the dooce.com blog about your cesarean and I felt moved to contact you. My cesarean was because the OB felt that my teeny tiny pelvis (ha!) couldn’t fit the baby that grew, and that I should have all cesareans in the future. Luckily I didn’t listen to him and have since had TWO babies that had the exact same head size as my “too big” baby come out of that teeny tiny pelvis. 🙂

I’d love to chat with you about your disappointment and your thoughts about a future birth.

    warmly,

    Krista

First of all, love your blog! Second, I was wondering if would be interested in doing a review and giveaway of YMI Jeans?
