“Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do the best of which you are capable.”
I have to admit that I often wondered if my brother and dad were fans of John Wooden merely because he was a part of UCLA history.
I just completed watching a PBS (thank you public television station!) special on John Wooden, both as a man and a coach.
The fundamentals on life and success that he covers are so basic, but so beautifully put together and explained. I felt like a sponge when listening to him-hanging on every word and soaking up everything he said. Knowing that his principles (for on and off the court) are time tested and wise.
After all the years of listening to Jonathan and my dad talk about this guy, I can see that is wasn’t simply because he was a coach at UCLA that they admire him. I dare say that they are UCLA fans BECAUSE of John Wooden and the basketball program that he grew and groomed.
I encourage anyone to learn more about this amazing man.
I want to read all of his books now.
